It's not finished. I am planning to trim and start binding tonight. My adorable and sweet husband actually fell in love with these and he is super bummed that these are intended for someone else. He has ordered me to make a set for us. I actually really fell in love with them too. Hope my partner feels the same way!
One question though... How would you bind them? I was going to do scrappy Echino binding but then the hubby said he thinks plain linen binding would be better. Thoughts?
Maybe a slightly darker shade of linen than your background? I like the idea of letting the center of them shine, but scrappy would look good too...
ReplyDeletehmmm....hubby might be on to something with the linen but I don't think you could go wrong either way...
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I suggest the linen binding with maybe one well placed echino scrap.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've probably been TOO vocal so you are probably not my partner, but these are way cute. I love them!
I'm with hubs on this one - just a simple linen binding would be great, though I do like Angelina's suggestion of adding one well-placed scrap.
ReplyDeleteI would go with a chocolate color binding..
ReplyDeleteDepends on whether you want the effect busy or peaceful. Are you a jazzy kind of person in the kitchen? Lots of stuff, lots of colours? Or more coordinated? Doing it in one simple colour (and I like the single one placed scrap idea of Angelina too) will make it more coordinated and restful. I know it's not for me as I am not in the swap but if I were I'd go for single colour, either all linen or 4 coordinating single colours.
ReplyDeleteThese are frickin awesome mate!
ReplyDeleteWell done!!!
As for the binding, I love Angelinas idea of the one placed scrap but I think you are in a win win situation that they will just look great either way!
I like the idea of doing a different solid color for each one OR doing the linen binding with a scrap of Echino tucked in. These are so great!!!
ReplyDeleteI would go w/ the scrappy Echino to "pop" -- husbands are often afraid of color, though simple is always great, too!
