I finally bought some fabric for myself. I can't believe it. I was shopping online for fabrics for my MMM partner and stumbled across the gorgeous Heirloom line by Joel Dewberry and I had to have some. They also got some Wrenly in stock so I swooped it up.
From the Heirloom line I piked up two yards of the Ornate Floral in Amber and a half yard each of the Opal in Jade and the Tile Flourish in Amber. They're all voiles, yummy, yummy voiles.
I intend to make myself a dress out of the Ornate Floral and I think I want to use the other two to make myself a skirt. As soon as they arrived I knew I didn't order enough of the two prints I got as half yard cuts. I think I want more. This fabric is just so delicious. Of course, I don't know when I will have the time to actually sit down and make something just for me. This weekend I need to finish up my package for my MMM Partner. I've also got a couple commissions that I'm working on and the gift for my Solids Swap Partner. Sigh... Someday I'll have a pretty, pretty dress, just for me. What are you working on this weekend?
Heirloom fabrics look lovely!
ReplyDeleteNot going to get much sewing done here this weekend. Hope you can make some time to get your dress done!
Absolutely fabulous choices! I'm a little bit jealous.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't really been grabbed by Heirloom, but your pictures make them look fantastic... especially the orange one on top! I hope you enjoy the fabrics you bought just for yourself. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful fabrics! I'm playing with my 3-yr old granddaughter, who is here for a sleepover, and hopefully we'll get out on the boat and out to the County Fair this weekend - the weather looks like it will cooperate beautifully! Finally some cooler weather!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, so pretty! At the moment I'm making a Shakesperean ruff for a friend (don't ask!) and then I have a dress to make for my mum - had to wait till she was up visiting this weekend to try a muslin on, as I'd got the wrong pattern size (I bought online and it didn't say it came in 2 different size ranges - grr) so I had to take a flier on making it 2 sizes bigger - thankfully I lucked out first time, so it can now go on to be a real live dress. I do have fabric to make myself some skirts, but, alas, it's waaaay down in the queue of things to do :o(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics! I just added some Wrenly to my stash and ordered some Heirloom but looking at all your voile makes me want to place another order.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics. The orange and aquas are amazing! That's it, I'm going shopping this weekend. I've been on a fabric buying diet and it needs to stop. ...and creating a pattern from Adam's quilt.. which means making another quilt...which means I'm making two patterns... must be an attention issue. lol! Have an amazing day. Oh, but I'm thrilled with the results so far, priceless.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I am eyeing the Heirloom voiles for drapes in our new master bedroom...
